01/06/12 Recording: Day I
So we started recording our new tunes. We did some
preproduction and made some demos
that we've felt confident about and
decided we're ready to go in and record those songs.
For the drums we went with a slightly experimental and different approach than how we recorded the drums on the first album. Basically, we
just entered our friends' garage, set up 2 over head mics, 1 bass drum
mic while recording the drums and cymbals separately. We anticipate an interesting (and possibly frustrating) mixing process.
It has yet to be
decided on how we're going to release this new materiel, but we have no
intention of taking our sweet time with it. We wanna release it as quickly as possible and hopefully go ahead and work on some more new stuff shortly after.
